What information do you need in order to profile your children?

X-mas break is a good time to start on child profiles. What information will you need? Don't just start writing anything and everything, or you'll end up creating too much work for yourself.

To decide what to include, ask yourself: 'what information will help me take better decisions, especially about classroom processes?' The socio-economic background, the language used at home, the family occupation, some of the key experiences a child has, specific strengths and areas that need attention - these are obviously of use.

क्या शामिल करना चाहिए, ये पहचानने के लिए अपने आप से पूछें: 'कौन सी जानकारी मुझे बेहतर निर्णय लेने में मदद करेगी? ख़ास तौर पर कक्षा में होने वाली प्रक्रिया को लेकर. सामाजिक-आर्थिक पृष्ठभूमि, घर में उपयोग की जाने वाली भाषा, परिवार का व्यवसाय, बच्चे के कुछ विशेष अनुभव, उसकी ताकतें और कहाँ उसे मदद चाहिए - ज़ाहिर है कि ये तो काम की बातें हैं ही.
