- Take a leaf (preferably a recently fallen one). Tear into 5 pieces (or more). Ask a child (or a group) to put it together again. What age group would this be appropriate for?
- You can do the same with pictures in old newspapers, or even with news items that children are fond of reading (e.g. cricket scores).
- For still older children, you can use an old map (sometimes you get these in newspapers; otherwise, get it from a used geography exercise book).
- Don't forget to ask children how they piece things together, what they keep in mind as they look at the pieces. Also ask them, what would make it very difficult to solve a jig-saw - then get them to make difficult ones for each other.

पत्तियों और पुराने अखबारों से बनायें जिग-सा
- एक बड़ी सी पत्ती लें (तोड़ने की जगह हाल में गिरी हुई हो तो ज्यादा अच्छा होगा). उसे ५ या अधिक टुकड़ों में करें. अब एक बच्चे या बच्चों के छोटे समूह को दें और कहें टुकड़ों को जमा कर फिर से पत्ती की आकृति पूरी करें. किस उम्र के बच्चों के लिए ये ठीक होगा?
- यही काम आप पुराने अखबारों में चित्रों के साथ भी कर सकते हैं, या उन समाचारों के साथ भी जो बच्चों को पसंद आते हैं (जैसे क्रिकेट स्कोर).
- थोड़े और बड़े बच्चों के साथ आप पुराने नक्शों का उपयोग भी कर सकते हैं (कभी-कभी ये अख़बारों में मिलते हैं, नहीं तो किसे पुरानी भूगोल की अभ्यास पुस्तिका से मिल सकते हैं)
- बच्चों से ये पूछना ना भूलें कि उन्होंने टुकड़ों को जोड़ने का काम कैसे किया, टुकड़ों को देखते हुए वे किन बातों पर ध्यान दे रहे थे? ये भी पूछें, किस तरह का जिग-सा हल करना बहुत ही मुश्किल होगा - और फिर उन्हें एक दूसरे के लिए ऐसे ही मुश्किल वाले बनाने के लिए कहें.
